Just got back from a wander around the Eyre Peninsula and
Gawler Ranges. Thanks to all those who gave advice in response to my post 16575 about
places to see. (You were right about the flies too - Head nets were a must!) Our Canadian friends enjoyed the trip, especially the ranges,
granite outcrops near
Wudinna and the cliffs on the Nullarbor.
They also liked Walers Way near
Port Lincoln - scenery just as good as the Great Ocean Road (they have seen both) and it's in South Aus.
Bit of an expensive trip:
Truck throws rock, small star fracture in windscreen - thats OK, I'll get it patched back in
Adelaide.
Road train roars past, buffeting 4by, crack runs from star 2 feet across screen, fortunately clear of the driver's side.
I liked the petrol prices at Nullarbour - $1.48 per litre - 42 cents more than in
Ceduna 300 kms the the East!
Cheers

Glad you had a good trip Paj. We also enjoyed Whalers Way, I reckon it was one of the highlights of our trip to Eyre peninsula.

Paj, I learnt something the other day.
Friend of
mine also with a paj, copped a rock on the windscreen. The crack started on the passenger side, and was slowly heading towards the driver side.
He got out and literally pushed on the glass and steered the crack down towards the bonnet!
He is a full time Fire Fighter, and was aware that this could be done.
Cheers
