Planning a weekend
camping trip up to myall lakes and was reading the trek notes. I've previously camped at Mungo brush but was wondering if you are allowed to
camp on
the beach between Mungo brush and seal rocks. I've seen on the trek notes that there is access to
the beach from the track that runs north through the heathland from mungo brush.
I'm sure somebody must have done it or looked into it before

Rihearn
I was only up there 2 weeks ago on a Reccie looking for somewhere to
camp in January 2005.
Mungo Brush:- Pit
toilets and very little room to move, about 14
camp spots
Banksia Green: - Pit
toilets and about 5 to 7
camp spots also tight
White Trees:- Pit
toilets and about 6 to 8
camp sites
The Wells:- Pit
toilets and about 6 to 8 sites
Yagon: Closed
Violet Hill:- Pit
toilets lots of room - far from
the beach good if you are boating.
Don't take the old rutile road unless you have a couple of hours to spare and like travelling under 20Km/h.
Enter
the beach off Mungo Road in two
places: - Signposted:: Sand is very soft and
the beach narrow, you could pitch-up on
the beach in some
places where the dunes flatten away.
If you looked at it from a cost point of view, Check-out the prices at each NP
campsite!! The local C/Van
park at Seals Rocks is better value and has the mod cons.
We decided on Seals Rocks based on room and location.

Rihearn, i agree with Vinnie... if you want to be at
the beach.. head to Seal Rocks and/or Treachery
Camp.. but book b4 you go!. good amenities there if requried. . if you don't 'have' to be by
the beach,.. and love a swim in the absolutely pristine 'fresh
water lake'. there a heaps of
places to go around the Lake. There is a place on the northern end of the lake (turn-off is on the way to Seal Rocks) called Neranie. it's very nice. very good if you are into skiing, swimming, beer drinking... etc etc etc and it's only about 15mins out to Seal Rocks to
the beach..
cut and paste link to NPWS for other
camping areas...
