What is the general view from owners of the new 2005 Pajero. Our local dealer is willing to do a swap + $8200, drive away no more to pay, on my 4yo Jackaroo, which I might add is in excellent condition with only 48k on the speedo. The model is a GLX with Auto plus all the bells etc. Certainly looks a nice truck but are they any good. Also comes with 1k free fuel and 3years free service. Sounds good eh!

Traitor...................jumpin ship eh !!!!!!!

Seriously, sounds like a good deal on the change over, but with the fuel and servicing giveaway they must be struggling to move them, sounds like a ploy to move excess '04 stock before the new year, should be able to screw em down a bit more if that is the case. Are they any good ?? sorry mate wouldn't have the foggiest..

It sounds too good to be true!
Are they good?? It is the Pajero which always wins the Dakar Rallyevery year!
The Dakar would have to be toughest test in the world for any vehicle.
I have never owned one -but I know four friends who do and all are very big fans. Three of which have had their Pajeros for 5-10 years and clocked up over 300,000 ks.
I hope this feed back helps.

When you look at how they strip down and re-manufacture the Pajero before the race, it really is no longer a Pajero... Custom made chassis, custom made suspension, reinforced drive line... None of which can be purchased from Mitsubishi. Having said that, I'm not knocking the Paj as it appears to be a competent machine.

the big problem is that they are broke financially one wonder how the quality control is being maitained for sure they would be cutting corners i would not buy one or a sedan for that matter

There was a story on the ABC 7.30 report in Oct & it didn't look good.

Some things said:

Well if things don't improve they could be out of Australia before the end of 2005.

Japan have sold only half the number of cars they did last year, with a $2.69 billion loss.

Sales in March approx 60,000
Sales in August approx 10,000

As for a bail out from othe vehicle manufacturers, Japan even said that no one was interested & if things dont go good in the next year or two that they may as well close up.

Not bagging, just stateing the report.

Cheers

Mitsubishi are doing run-out deals at the moment, hence the good deal.
GLX is the base model. I'd go for the GLS (I have the 2001 model). Better equipment levels.
They do like a drink so check out the deisel version. The DID is a great engine.
They are a very capable off-roader and will take you just as far as any other standard 4WD. On-road they can't be beat. Best handling 4WD around (in this price range) with the choice of part time or full time 4WD at the flick of a lever.
I don't think you'd be dissapointed.

Seems all is not as it was yesterday. I went in yesterday and the deal was done but they couldn't give me a test drive. Come back to-morrow and we will and sign all documents. I have just come back and sure enough I had the drive but "funny" all the figures have changed. They now want a fair bit more, so I just got up and walked out. New car salesman!. If they had of been up front at the start I would probably have coughed up the extra $.
