Hi Nudenut,

They were very cold, and I think I was was being very conservative in the notes as to when I had my first one each day. Being a passenger all weekend, as well as celebrating a birthday, I had little other to do than have a few bevies. Unfortunately I think I created an image of myself to others that wasn't that good. I never was intoxicated, but I had quite a few.

It was a great weekend though and there will be many more. Next time though my truck will no longer be sick and I will be leading trips again.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing all your adventures with us. Your journalism and preparation for it must take almost as much time as doing the trip.
We missed out on Robe due to a date with a surgeon so it was great to see what you all got up to.
We enjoyed your KI adventures as well. We spent a month there in April 2004 so it reminded us of some of the places we visited.
Thanks again,
Camper

Hi Camper,

Thankyou for the feedback. It was a great weekend, and the biggest weekend gathering so far I believe. Maybe you can make the next gathering at Murray Sunset over March long weekend next year.

My son and I loved KI and I hope to get back there again soon. The time we spent there was not enough, but for a first time visit I was very impressed, except for the costs to get over and back, and the state of the Penneshaw CP.

Cheers

Yes Glen,
The park at Penneshaw had close when we got there so it must have been on its last legs for your stay.
We used the one at Brownlow just south of Kingscote for two days. It was good and there is another near the west end called Western KI caravan park which we only drove past and the one at Flinders chase itself both of which looked OK.
We largely bush camped which was perfectly OK. There are plenty of well prepared sites administrated by the Councils and Parks and Wildlife.
American River has a camping ground which is well sheltered, is very reasonable and has showers.
Ah to be on the road again!
Cheers,
Camper
