I'm wondering if anyone has experience in Kuhmo tyres good or bad, as I'm considering a set for my Nissan Patrol (1999)

Tima

I had a set of 265/70 15s on a Triton Ute they had about 45K kms when i sold it a they looked only 1/2 worn. Out of the 3 sets of tyres i had on that car i reckon they were the best of all.

I would be interested in hearing other responses as i am considering them as the next set for my PAtrol.

must be just me ....I had a set of AT's on a little F50 scat. I destroyed 2 sets in less than 50 K's each set. I will never buy them again.

Thanks all, I've had Bridgestone Duellers on at the moment, and was lucky to scrape 48K out of them, with no major hard driving. I got the Kumhos at a good price, so I'll see what happens.

the thing with bridgestone is they have a number of factories world wide.
If you buy Australian made tyres they seam to have a harder compound. the last set of australian made duellers lasted me over 75thou { and still had a lot of tread left} when I sold the 80 series. when the jap spec ones only lasted 50 thou and where knacked.

My experience with them was disasterous!. Two blistered tyres at the Dig Tree in December in 45 degree tempetures and no-one around.
Lucky to get out ok on some old spares. I bought Coopers when I got to Brisbane and am now on my secoond set as they have been so good - a life cycle of 80,000 plus Ks.

Had some on my old Rodeo, never had a problem with them. They were pretty hard I think judging by the amount of wear.

Currently on my second set, I have been quite happy with how they have worn. I expect they will go pretty well in the sand next summer. However if you want to tackle much of the rough stuff I would suggest something stronger.
I brought my old tyres home once i got new ones on and used them on an agricultural implement which takes 16 inch tyres, best I did was 3 weeks before a blowout, I had 2 BFG a/t tyres which did over 6 months in the same conditions, now run 12 ply back hoe tyres but that is besde the point.

Had Kumho 31x10.5x15 AT's on my Surf for 4 years and got 80 000k's with a combination of hiway/offroad/sand and no problems. May have got some more out of them but had some worn shocky troubles so cut their life a bit.

Now have Maxxis and dammed noisy on smooth bitumen!!

Wish I'd stuck to the Kumho's!!!!

Have the same on my IFS Hilux, at 40,000 ks they have maybe 5,000 left.

They have spent at least 1/2 their life on the dirt. Have lost chunks of rubber from every tyre, and would not consider them a good buy given the mileage. Yes, I have had them balanced and aligned at least every 10,000 k.

Othetr Club members seem to do much better on BFGs and Coopers, a few extra dollars up front, but looked after they seem to work out a better bargain in the long run.

Cheers

had them on my pajero and did 3 simpson crossings,, a trip to the cape, googs track, and half a dozen trips to brisbane from adelaide with one blowout, {replaced free of charge} and were still on the car at trade in after 72000ks, so i reckon they are ok.
