Howdy all ,
I have just purchased a Honda generator and was wondering if putting it in the camper would destroy it etc etc as the
suspension is not that soft in my Trak Shak .
Do you guys carry them in your 4wds or put them in the campers ?
Thanks ,
Willie .

Lotsa people cart motorbikes in trailers..........
I think if a fridge can survive, then the jenny should as
well, but I don't know for sure...LOL!
If you are in doubt, sell it to me at a reduced rate!!!

Gee Wolfie , do you think you would have room for it amongst all that junk in your car . Maybe you could squeeze it in between Rhiannans hair ties and the empty Coke cans .
Cheers ,
Willie .

Willie,
Provided you secure the genny inside the camper you should not have any problems.
They were not designed to be carried around the place in cottonwool but on the same hand they weren't designed to be allowed to bounce around in the back of the truck (but I have seen some treated like that and they still worked OK).
For further info contact;
LAWRENCE BROS POWER EQUIPMENT
19 Forest Rd (corner Cronulla St)
Hurstville 2220
(02) 9587 2744
They may be able to give you the right info.. I bought my last 2 from there and their customer service and general support is great. (No, I don't have an financial interest in them).

I cart
mine around in the back of my Kanga camper all the time and never thought about it. It just sits on a piece of rubber that goes around it as
well. Just make sure you turn the petrol off and it should be OK. It's done a few k's in there but i've never used it for
camping, only down the paddock or around the house:-(

We just came back from a 8,500 klm trip to
Cape York. Friends of ours from Yass (near
Canberra) drove even further......from Yass to Innaminka to meet up with us, then on to
Longreach,
Cairns, Lakefield NP,
Weipa,
Cape York, back via Pormporaaw (spelling????), Kowanyama,
Karumba,
Lawn Hill,
Birdsville, Maree, then they turned off at Parachilna and went back via
Broken Hill etc.
We estimate 80% of our trip was on gravel, mostly pretty ordinary; 3000klm of it VERY bad. Mate had a Trak Shak and a Honda Gennie. He made up an aluminum door for the front, passenger's side gerry can compartment where he stored the gennie and various oils etc. Never had a problem. I think he was putting an old towel or similar in the compartment too, to stop the gennie rubbing/rattling, but other than that he did nothing "special".
Those roads were arguably some of this country's roughest and he never had a problem.

OK ,
Thanks everyone for your help . I feel confident about putting it in the camper now .
I think I might weld up an alloy box for it and line that with rubber just to be on the safe side . My wife says im obsessive compulsive , but I'm not am I ?
Thanks again ,
Willie .

Willie,
I carry my honda in the box on the front of my KK. I bought a bag for it from Michelle's Sacs and this provides padding and protects it in transit. I would strongly suggest this. Michelles' Sacs
