Just looking at mounting these on the car. I carry a tinnie on the
roof so was planning to place these on a small extension next to the
tinnie in a housing (the housing is mainly to stop them being
knocked off by vegetation). It is my understanding that these
arials will see through plastics but was wondering if anyone had
already done this? Was thinking of using a security camera housing.

Considered alternative mountings like the bullbar and snorkel but
for various reasons they are not ideal.

Kind regards

I have 2 GPS aerials and a sat phone aerial mounted via plastic feet that adhere to inside of windscreen. My windscreen (Toyo 100series) has a bit of a slant to it and provided the aerials are located at the bottom of the window allow the aerial to see 'sky'

If you have a snorkle fitted, then the top of that is a perfect place for a GPS antenna.
