G'day Johnsy, you didn't say if you wanted to stick to the dirt or get back on the black top for a while mate. If you want to get back onto the blacktop for a rest, head north out of Townsville, through
Ingham and
Cardwell [be hard to get past there] and deposit yourself at
Etty Bay just south east of
Innisfail. there is a van park there that is right on the beach, a
shop, and not much else. the rain forest comes right down to the beach. Set yourself up with a six pack [or more] and you will never want to leave.

Know how you feel mate. I love the dirt as
well. [We must be mad]. Just thought you might like to put your feet up on a great beach [you could probably find a dirt track that leads there if you tried hard :) :) :) ENJOY!!

There's quite a few old logging roads west of Paluma and
Ingham. I've been told the area around Mt Fox is nice. A bit futher north is the "Vally of Lagoons", and
Blencoe falls (west of
Cardwell) is worth a trip, but avoid peak season or it's hard to find a
campsite (
bush camping only). Get the Hema map of the area and look for the dotted roads :)

Big bend in the Burdiken and red falls(great basalt wall np) are good . go up the harveys range road till you hit the
gregory developmental rd turn left. where that rd crosses the burdiken on the left is
bush camping.
Good fishing too.
