Has anyone seen or used the two cylinder air compressors that Auto One are selling now?
They go by the brand name of "rogue" and are around the $150 mark.

Was that the spherical one that sits up in the ball cavity and splits ouward by winding in an allen key?
I just paid $25 at SuperCheap for one. Peace of mind for our caravan......

Hi savvas,
I talked to a bloke from my nearest Auto-One about these compressors, he didn't have any in stock yet, maybe will by middle of next week. Its my understanding that they are indeed twin cylinder versions of the popular 72 lpm generic single cylinder jobs like Bushranger(RipOff joints),Flow Max(BigW),12 Volt Gear(Campmart), Super Works(Supercheap) etc etc. The price is alright at $159 its a real bargain. When I actually lay my eyes on one I will be able to confirm the above info and will put the word out if no-one else has.

wouldn't you prefer to pay $100 more and get an arb compressor.
I got a $100 repco jobbie and it takes 20 minutes to pump 4 tyres from 24 to 36 psi. Keeps overheating.

Dont compare the bushranger and Big w /supercheap compressors, because although they look similar, i can tell you they are nothing like the same.....

Go O,
With all due respect. If several "quality name" brands of compressor can and do use the same Thomas pumps, paint them, put their "quality name", put their own (scorced from somewhere/someone) fittings and accessories on them and market them as their own.......... Then it is not too unreasonable to see that B.R. have done the same with a no name Chinese pump, put on a "quality name" sticker, quality (some) fittings,"quality" marketing, "quality name" price (just bellow other "quality brand" prices), put a 5 year warrantee (they can afford to do this with their markup). You really are kidding yourself !!

Have you duty tested them, and pulled them apart before and after?
If you havent, then you are just another consumer who shops with his wallet, buys the cheapest item, then tries to justify the purchase, if you have, then you would know they cant be the same.
We duty tested them for an importer, and met with the manufacturer while they were in Australia, to see what, if any changes should be made.
I can tell you the cheaper ones make much more smoke, much more quickly than the dearer versions.

Hi Go O,
I have to watch my pennies, but I dont buy things only based on price. I buy things based on material value for money! BR pumps dont offer much of that!

I agree, hence I dont have one, but that hasnt what we have been debating here, but hey, if a cheap copy of a cheap compressor turns you on, and you need to steer the thread around what you think, go for it, but if you wish to discuss specifics of why its actually a cheap copy of a cheap compressor, feel free to ask........ someone else....

I have a Rogue (the one that ""looks like"" the Bushranger 72litres per minute) and for speed it leaves my ARB one for dead pumping at almost twice the speed. I have used it maybe a couple of dozen times or more to pump up 4 to 6 tyres from around 12-15psi back up to 36psi. Initially it was brilliant but now it sounds like it is missing,, and yes I know it doesn't have spark plugs or anything,, but you can hear it jumping when under load. It has never overheated or conked out on me but I get suspicious each time I hear it. All the more so because it came with a 12 month warranty & I have had it for about 11 months. And before anyone tells me to take it back, I would if I could find the blood ee receipt. With any luck, it will keep on kicking for years to come with just a quirky jump in its voice. The ARB one is only used for my air lockers or if we have visitors & I need extra air.

Hi this is slightly off topic but has anyone tried or seen the air tanks at www.colemanpowermate.com/compressors/airtanks.shtml
I know of a place that has them here in
Brisbane for $54 I think. But cant remember if they were the small or larger size. The larger one looks the goods.
