Just bought a 02 3.0TD Auto Patrol which is being delivered next week. I have an offroad boat trailer with hilux sunraisers and the spare is a cruiser split as I have an 80 series so it can be a spare for the vehicle or trailer. Question is will the cruiser split fit the Patrol and will the Patrol
wheels fit the trailer?
I am also going to put canvas
seat covers on the Patrol and it seems that the Michelle's Sacs covers are the best on the market. I have not seen them and looking at the website I am having trouble deciding on colour. My vehicle is Gold with the brown interior, does anyone know what is the best colour for the vehicle?
After reading a previous post I am getting Nissan to fit a
snorkel - 1st price was $647! I wanted 3 as my two mates with Patrols want them as
well and they got a price of $370 fitted from another dealer or $260 supplied. So now the mob that said $647 are fitting
mine for $310 and supplting 2 for $260!!!!! What sort of markup do they put on gear?????

It may be worth trying Candy Canvas for
seat covers. I reckon they may send you a material sample if you ask:
www.candycanvas.com.au
As far as the rhetorical question about mark up - it's normal, applies to many, many items we buy, and they don't have to use that mark up - they only do that so they can stay in business and feed their families, and provide for the future.
There is an adjective we use to describe that activity - capitalism. Generally speaking the world seems to think capitalism is better than communism, socialism, despot-ism, anarchy, mob rule & terrorism.
Cheers

Hi H20
The cruiser spare will not fit a Patrol as it has locating tabs on the central hole that will not allow it to go over a patrol hub. However, the Patrol rim will fit on virtually and vehicle/trailer that has the same bolt hole spacing (rim offset aside). Or you can file down the hub tabs on the cruiser rim and it to will then fit almost any 6 stud hub.
Cheers

Have a go at fitting the
snorkel your self as they are easy. You will save 50 bucks and then you can charge your mates 50 bucks each to fit theirs. That reduces the end price of yours.
They are easy to fit. Its just drilling that first hole in the nice paint that takes some Kahoonas but once the first one is in the rest get easier. Take your time and you will have no dramas.
The template says to drill holes at a certain size but you if you be carefull you can actually drill them alot smaller for a better fit. They say to drill large holes so you can move the
snorkel around to align it and then use large washers to secure it in place but if you take your time and precisely mark and drill the holes smaller, you will have the same job but with smaller size holes in your guard. Just my opinion and makes you feel like you have done a better job than the factory.
Best of luck

Hi 80cruiser
I am about to fit a safari to our 90 series prodo next weekend - working up to the drilling and cutting with some trepidation. On the Lcool site there is an excellent pictorial of how to do this. One of the notes there is to make sure the holes are oversize to make sure the bolts do not touch the body work and cause vibration noise.
What size (or by what % did you undersize) your holes - in the guard that is :-).

For all the hassles, and issues that can come up, $50 for fitting is probably the best bargain of the century....

I got my
snorkel supplied and fitted by the Nissan dealer for $300 from memory, 03 3.0TD auto. I told them I wouldn't buy ther car unless they did the
snorkel, barrier and tint at a reasonable price, they were happy to oblige.

H20 ,
I have a Cruiser and bought a set of Black Duck canvas
seat covers . They fit brilliantly and are one of the best items I have bought the car . Do a Google on them for the details .

Willie, I have black ducks on my cruiser and while I am very happy with them I am told that the Michelle's Sacs are more comfortable. They have a photo of them in a Patrol on their website but the brown and blue looks too 'out there' and the
grey is so light it is sure to show stains.
