I've learnt a lot about Solar from one simple post.

The responses were overwhelming. Unfortunate about some of the punch-ups.

The exchange of information on this forum is, as always, wonderful.

If Darren and I can be sensible enough to put our differences behind us and get on with life, there is hope for everyone.

Funny how today I spoke on the phone to one of the protaganists and found him to be one of the most helpful, genuine people I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I know that the others are decent blokes as well. Life's too short to bicker. I will never enter into ugliness again (I hope).

At 43 y.o. I am still learning, more about life than anything.

Anyway, enough navel gazing.

Cheers,

Jim.

thats the problem with forum ...some times answers and opinions can be mis-intrued or sound abrupt when they are not.

Yes Shadow,

and at times they get point blank rude and abusive.

Not suggesting I'm any Angel.

Cheers,

Jim.

Jimbo,
sometimes they are all just mirroring what they are getting ;-)

Now, one day we will have to catch up for drink or 3.

Yes, I suspect it doesn't present the correct image to potential sponsors who may be browsing.

hi Jimbo

I didn't respond before...was getting interesting there though

we have 2 panels US42, we used one on the weekend whilst camping at Jamieson, it charged our batteries which ran a 70Lt Weaco...and all in all Al was impressed with just the one panel...our friend with us who is an electrician was also impressed and used it charge his - he was running two fridges...

Al's gone through the exercise about panels, regulators etc, he has a contact and I'm sure would be happy to share his knowledge...memmsg if you want further info

cheers

Parts of the original post may have been deleted, and perhaps David Au may be be a bit abrasive in his responses at times, but I spoke to him today and found him to be an extremely helpful and generous with his time sort olf chap.

Thanks David Au. You're a decent man and I appreciate the time you took with me.

Can't we all get along a liitle better?

Life's too short.

Cheers,

Jim.

Hi again Jimbo, going on your last post, if you are not stopping in any one place for more than two days at a time, do you have any specific reason for wanting solar panels. Because if you have the room, you would be far better off installing a second battery. With two batteries, you could safely park somewhere for two to four days, depending on usage, before needing the recharge the batteries and then about a five hour drive would charge both batteries up enough for another few days of camping.
The cost would be far less that the solar panels and probably give you a longer operation time between charges.
just a thought. Cheers
