shoudn't laugh really, but anyway---------
letter in recent 4wd mag says the owner had bigger tyres fitted, noticed that the tyre stated max pressure 65psi and has been running around at 60 psi.
fortunately the mag put him right and hopefully the dentist bill won't be too much.

Mmmmm.. yep tyre place fitted my new larger tyres and set them at 40psi while my placard refers to 22psi for stock tyres and I ended up running them at 18psi. Put them up to 22psi on the front with the addition of the steel bullbar and winch.

Be careful with pressures that low, sure the tyre placard says that, but that is the manufacturer trying to give you a soft ride. Check with the tyre distributor, as I did, & you will find that they may void your warranty if you run that low.

i agree with shaker, 22psi seems a tad low.
what vehicle and tyres have you got?
i run my 285's at 40psi on a heavy patrol on the blacktop,and still get a tad more wear on the outside of the tyre,but put this down to camber and cornering.

Ahh.. there's the thing, it's a Vitara on 31x10.5's so if I was to run that sort of pressure it would be like riding on bicycle tyres. At 22psi I get nice even wear across the tyre, a good ride and only 4psi variation after a long high speed run.
