Trucksters water is about gone now, there was just a normal amount going over Bindaree falls last weekend

A bit of rain up here in the last 24 hours and the tracks have gone back to slippery conditions again. Bruce Griswald is correct, the rivers are still a lot higher than this time last year. Would not like to do them without a snorkle. Is pretty warm at present and quite humid but more thunderstorms and hail expected till Friday. Expect all tracks to be muddy this weekend.

G'day Jackablue,
Was up in the Wonangatta Valley for 5 days last week, came in from Mansfield and went out over the Howitt High Plains.
The Abbeyard and for that matter all other tracks we were on, were in good nick and no difficult water crossings.
Word of warning, if coming in from Mansfield and not taking the Cobbler turn off, but continuing down the Abbeyard, you will come to an intersection that offers the Harry Shepherd track or the West Buffalo, dont take the West Buffalo track, it is closed further on and if you are not right on top of your navigating you find yourself on the Razor track, which takes you back to the Abbeyard track..... some 2-3 hours later. You will have worked out now that we were not using GPS or compass but relying on old memory, never mind, a nice drive was had by all.
Take the Harry Shepherd track for a great drive into the valley, if that is where you are heading.
The wildflowers are in abundance, the weather last week, apart from one day, fantastic and the Wonangatta river just the right temp. for a reinvigorating dip.
Hope this helps,
