g'day, i have read somewhere on this site that people have been 4wding in the mount crawford forest. i went out there on the weekend and drove around a fair bit but all the good tracks were closed off by gates. i managed to go around one gate and there was a really good track.

i was just woundering if any of you guys have been out there and if so do you go around the gates or are there some good tracks that are ealily accesible?

also are there any other tracks around this area?

any info would be much appreciated.

I am thinking that you should not have gone around that gate like you said.

Both Kuipto & Crawford have a Ranger Station. Ring them, they will tell you, don't get it second hand from here.

I follow the Sled Dog circuit in both these forests, and it is a lot of forward planning to get access to gates & tracks. I don't believe 4 wheel driving is accepted.

You should go through gates (where permitted) not around them. AFAIK there is no public access to any tracks in Mt Crawford and while people "manage to go around gates" I don't suppose there willbe for along time to come.

Tread lightly.
