Hey guys..dig long and hard enough and you will get to the bottom..I now have a copy of the official Isuzu Notice of recall Det-03-066 Issued June 18th 2003.
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/f_recalls/results.cfm
The guy at GM went strangely very quiet and was supprisingly less agressive to my find..
I trust that this epic is now almost at an end..I will continue to keep you informed
Thanks for your continued encouragement

Hi jackblue
took me a while but finally found it. Here are some directions
Foreign recalls
Then select "Search Foreign Campaigns
Where is says Manfacturer, select "Isuzu ......"
Hit the Search button
Look for the file that has the "date received by NHTSA" "Jun 21 2003
hit the document search button and then it should come up...... hope that helps.
Good luck Paul, I thik the document has all the info to cover you.
cheers
Adam

Onya Paul - seeing the dealer and Isuzu declined to help, you could to direct them to Eoz, so they can watch your posts to all and sundry on progress toward what we hope is a successful outcome. That might "concentrate their attitude" toward customer service !

good work champ, nearly spat out my drink when you mentioned the 'japanese' document debarcle, what shiza...
Looks like they have to fill in the paperwork now and get off their backsides.
BTW - what a great site that is, even got service bulletins, and consumer complaints , not just the admitted cleaned up versions the manafacturers give.
yeah, keep us in
the loop.

It's a pity that the aussie counterparts haven't got that info up, though.
By the way, there is a website in Australia where you can lodge defect complaints straight to DOTARS, particularly safety defects. This one will certainly fall in to that bucket.
Click here to have a look.

Interesting reading, just read about Toyota hilux & hilux surf/4 runner 1988 - 1996 26 Oct 2004 recall on steering rod cracks if you use full lock alot. Only applies to Japan because they have tight
parking spots & close quaters manouvering. lol.

Cheers Guys..On those long summer nights you can now search this site and find out what they don't wish you to know..I have been fed a litany of lies by GM.."Quote" We Suspect that Isuzu's investigation could take some time given that we are not aware of any similar failure in the area discribed and photographed...
We would suggest that you carry out rectification work immediately...
This has taken 3 weeks of my time and cost me thousands..no vehicle for more than a month..I am not a happy chappie..
Cheers

Well done. paul v. I hope that gets the ball rolling as for you. After I read about your problems I checked
mine for cracks but couldn't find any(1992 V6 Jack).
Went 4WDing and now after every trip I check the chassy but so far no Probs. Good luck with Holden.

Well folks one big step for mankind... I am led to believe that the lights burned long into the night at GM Holden NZ and accross the Tasman after the reciept of the Japanese/US market recall notice.
Would you believe that after more than a month of being ignored... GM Holden/ Isuzu would now like to send their own people to take photographs and inspect the damage..I can only conclude that the three images already supplied do not portray the extent of the damage clearly enough.
I now await GM Holden to inform me as to how they intend to reinstate my vehicle... wouldn't it be great if they just said we have cocked up.. here is a vehicle you can use until such time as we resolve the issues surrouding your Isuzu..have a great xmas..I wish..
Cheers guys thanks for all your reports and support from the land of OZ they have sure helped to reinforce my belief that GM and Watergate have a lot in common.
Cheers Paul Vahry
