was wondering if anyone has made a camper trailer out of a 75 series well body and if so what sort of things did you do to it ?
due to the price of most camper trailers I am forced to make my own , any tips would be great.

My neighbour has a soft floor camper that sits on his 75 series well body. He had a local canvas maker make it for him. The unit bolts on top of the well body. There is no access from below the bed matress to the trailer and all access is via the tailgate. It shouldnt be too difficult to cut an access door below the matress - especially to the front area of the trailer.

It opens up to the left side and is a typical family size soft floor arangement with the QS bed sitting on top of the trailer. The living area is screened, floored and has large windows and doors with stormflaps. It is made from 15oz canvas with a HD rubberised floor. It cost $3800.

If you search some of the camper trailer websites you will probably find some manufacturers who offer a similar setup for fitment to your own trailer.

Most canvas tent campers simply bolt on top of a trailer, so it should be relatively easy for a handyman to get the tent part made and fit it to whatever trailer body you want to. Just got to get the height of side flap to suit the height of the trailer top.

ok thanks for the info, I had thought about just buying a camper top and bolting it on to the trailer .
I supose that would be the best way to go.

In most cases , its the Canvas work that will be the hardest to do yourself.

A lot of folks do like Tuco's mate has done. Build their own trailer to their requirements , but bolt on a camper unit from a CT maker. Most sell the camper unit seperately.
