hi, we're down in melb doing the relly run for christmas and decided to buy a camper trailer whilst down here. I am wondering if anyone could tell me where to buy a tekonsha (voyager i believe) brake controller in melb. I have been told they go for about $140.
Cheers.

Hi Warthog

Apart from our offroad camper, we sell a few bits and pieces. We have on special Tekonsha Prodigy (digital screen) for $170.

We had a Techonsha Voyager in our 100 Series, but when we got the F250 had a Techonsha Prodigy fitted. We tow a 21ft Bushtracker caravan.

The digital technology of the Prodigy is so far ahead of the Voyager that it is a wonder they still sell any Voager models.

Definitely go for the Prodigy. The price above is very good too. We paid $325 not fitted 3 years ago when they were new.

Thanks Brian, I haven't used any electric brake controllers before but had heard pendullum models were better, appreciate your comparison.

Wathog,

I have just had a tekomsha unit fitted to my Patrol and recieved a warning from my trusted brake specialist about its fitting. Even though it is tempting to save money and fit it yourself it is not worth the problem of the alternator burning it out due to you not being fully conversant with electrics. I paid the extra and I'm glad I did because a guy who bought one at the same time and you guessed it....burnt it out when fitting and it had to be sent away for repairs at his cost $$$$$.

Forwarned is forarmed.

Cheers,

Patrick

I have the Prodigy on my LC100 for teh camper trailer. Its an excellent controller.
I had mine sent from Qld though so can't help with a local supplier other that those menthoined above. BTW $170.00 is good value for a Prodigy.
