Take it to where you bought it they should program it. or Telstat, G&C in Cranbourne or ANY good radio place..
I have them in mine, really handy....

With the tx4400 no need to visit a shop as you can it yourself from the front panel, dunno if that's still a current model or not.

The 4400 is still current but the early 4400s still require a shop to do it. Although for $50 GME will install the new microprocessor for you. Not too bad since they charge about $30 to programme the channels.

For expediency I had Major Communications (where i bought my GME TX3400) program it for me. Even though instructions come with the unit, you needed to have a PC set up with the appropriate data, etc, etc, etc. It was just a pain to try and do it myself. I had them plug in the local police channels - and they differ from place to place and from time to time - so beware that you need the latest set of frequencies.

I use it to monitor the Hume Highway because we're up and down it to Cooma nearly weekly - and it's great to know what's going on if there is a hold up. Alternatively - just keep monitoring Ch40 and listen to the truckies - they seem to know quite a bit - I guess that their livelihood depends on timely deliveries!!!

If you have the GME TX4400 or the Uniden UH 013 then you do not need software or a dealer to program it. Just look up the frequencies that you want and enter it in yourself. Try this place for any frequency listings:

Lots of analogue trunking all around the place perhaps you mean digital.
SA, Tas and I think WA have gone digital, not sure about the others apart from Vic who are presently working torwards it and no doubt a lot of headaches with.
