Just letting everyone know that the Poverty
Creek camping ground in
Bribie Island National Park is opening up this week. It was closed for some time but now has been revamped. The best thing about it is that it is so close to the city. Great for that quick weekend getaway.

Haven't been at poverty
creek yet. Last weekend we went to check it out. The road is there now (previously they bulldozed a mountain of sand to stop people going there) but there was a
gate across it. It's suppose to open tommorrow I think.
From what I have heard it was once a cattle property, so there's plenty of open grassed space. It also has BBQ's,
toilets, showers and picnic tables. It's not too far from civilisation but you need either a 4wd or a boat to get there.
A few months ago we camped at gallaghers point which is a little bit down from poverty
creek. It wasn't too bad. There are no facilities at Gallaghers though. Both of these are on the west side so still
water only.
