My son phoned me to tell me he arrived at Alice this morning to start his new job. Sounds a good deal but not my place to live. I know all of you who do live there ( not sure of what one who lives in Alice Springs is called... A Springer, an Aliceian???) will give him a wave. He is into bloodstock and horseracing.. I thought they raced camels there? This of course changes next years adventure to include AS.. then maybe on to Darwin and across to Cairns ... Im sure swmbo will give directions as needed.

I was fairly impressed with Alice when I was there, for a Town the size of Kalgoorlie it had way more shops to satisfy any shmbo. And where it had it all over Kal was all those Dutch packpackers all looking for a lift somewhere. As for the surrounding area my breif visit confirmed it is as good as they say

They are called Central Australians....a bit like some marsupial name or what? Lived in Alice for 3 years in the '90's. Good place and lots to do especially bush trips.
