I note when reading posts, there appears to be quite a number of 'firies' that pop up now and again. Just for interest sake- could ya let me know who's there and what district/brigade you're at.
To start the ball rolling:
Captain/ Wollondilly/ Communications.

And for those NSW RFS people, I'm sure most of you would have been down this area- coz when we have a fire, it's always a big one. (including Christmas 2000)

I spent about 10 years of my life with Round Corner VBFB in the Baulkham Hills Shire as did my Dad.

We both stopped after moving away.

Saw a lot of big blows in that time.

Not sure if the old brigade is still going or not.

We had an excellent captain at the time.........guy by the name of Alan Roberts.

When I first started there were two vehicles in the brigade,.........an old series 1A long wheel base Land Rover and a Holden FJ ute.

The Ute had a tank on the back and the Landy towed a trailer with a petrol pump and tank.

Great times.

Would love to have that old landy now.

Hell even the FJ would be great.....lol.

Any idea what sort of vehicles they use nowadays?

Oh and I just remembered the Chief of Baulko at the time was a tremendous bloke by the name of Lionel Smith.

I spent a total of 35 years with Both Cranbourne & Tyabb CFA volunteer brigades where I was an officer of the brigade for about 28 years, including secretary and captain. Moved to Noosa and felt it was time to let someone younger do the work.
