G'day all,
I'm looking at fitting a
snorkel to the 3.5L Rodeo. I got the impression that it will improve fuel economy a little (not expecting much, but anything would be helpful) and obviously would provide a bit of protection for
creek crossings etc.
Would be interested to hear from anyone, particularly petrol Rodeo, but anyone who has fitted a
snorkel to a PETROL engine and their experience.
Also, I realise I can't submerge the engine like a diesel and don't want to. Just interested in protecting the engine a bit.
Cheers,
Smocky.

Hey Smocky
I havent got it fitted yet, but are putting an airtec
snorkel on to my petrol Jack. I am also putting in a K&N air filter. This will improve the cold air intake providing more power and better fuel economy, how much, I dont know yet. Good luck with it all. Cheers

Would be great to get some feedback on what you've found. Rodeo is obviously pretty similar to the Jack. Is yours a 3.5?
Cheers,
Smocky.

Hi Smocky
Yep it is the 3.5 and had the restrictors taken out of the exhaust. The
snorkel is not on yet, but will be in the next two weeks. I am not expecting a huge difference but as said below, cleaner air and that whole ram effect and river crossings. I found it was only the Airtec
snorkel that would fit, might be the same for the rodeo.
cheers Adam

What sort of bucks you up for?
I'll need to budget for it.

Hi Smocky
Snorkel and fitting was just under $500. K&N air filter was about $80. TJM carry the Airtec, not sure if anyone else does. cheers

I've seen no noticeable change in fuel economy on a 100 series 4.5P.
Cheers,
Pete

Whether it gives you better economy or power i don't know but cleaner and cooler air is better for the engine anyway and peace of mind when doing
river crossing.
