Sometimes you can get them at a good auto leckie or auto parts store, depends on whether wht has been used is model specific or a generic design.
I've found that if the little globes are detachable from the plastic holder and are 'clear' you might have a chance. If neither of the above, then it's off to Toyota.
I recently had to buy a couple of globes for a HZJ75 and a Coaster bus, both required a visit to Toyota as no aftermarket was available.

I recently repaired my next door neighbours exact same unit.
Bought slightly bigger diameter globes (only ones I could get on a sunday afternoon with the longest pigtails I could - they were Narva globes from Autobahn. You could get smaller ones any other day of the week from RS, Farnell or possibly Dick Smith. Hobby shops specialising in train sets are also a possible source.
I'm surprised you can't just get them from Toyota but anyway.
1. Remove the globes (quarter turn to unlock from PCB) and lift out.
2. Remove globe from globe holder by unwrapping legs.
3. Enlarge hole slightly using drill bit (by hand not in drill) or tapered reamer.
4. Wrap contact points in small fuse wire
5. Insert new globe and solder legs to fuse wire (quickly)
**Last two points are redundant if you can source globes with long enough legs to wrap around holder.
6. The green globe cap is a silicon rubber cap that can be removed from the old globe and put on the new one.
About half an hours tinkering in the shed and 2 stubbies should do it.

Thanks geocatcher,
the thieves at toyota want $3.10 each for these little buggers.
What you have done sounds like the way to go- i didnt realise you could get the old globe out of the base.

I think the narva ones were about 90 cents each. My time was free.
If there's a selection of power levels go for the lowest. You don't need brighter ones and they make more heat.

Hmmmm, a few hrs tinkering, soldering, searching and a buck or 10mins and $3.10 seems odd when you look at it like that. But to tell you the truth...I probably would have made my own and enjoyed the few hrs tinkering in the shed.
Just a thought, I have used the redundant globes from ash trays and other obscure locations in the vehicle to replace the important ones in instuments and dash lights etc on a number of occasions. Doesnt solve the problem permanently but does make do until you get around to finding the right globes without paying $3.10.
Matt.
