I have a set of 240 XGT Lightforce. Can anyone explain to be if there is a real reason for the different colour covers and if so, what does each one do. I can guess that the yellow if for fog, but why red, green etc.
As a side issue. If the yellow is for fog, wouldn't the lightforce be a too powerful light to put on in fog anyway??
Thanks,

red lens helps show up ferals eye's (at night)
but the downfall is reduced very much reduced light intensity which negates the purpose of fitting them to a spot

All put out different types of light.
The lforce site tells you pretty much what they do... Tried yellow, and they are awesome in fog up the H Country!!!

thanks for all the replys. Checked their website from the link but also called them. They have a new "crystal blue" for the 240 which "softens" the whiteness and makes them look like a HID beam. Still a white beam. Nicer to look at for hours on end so I have ordered one for my spot. Be interesting to see how it is. If it's good I'll get the combo one also. Will keep you posted on whether they are any good or not.
Thanks,

Gossy,
I have the blue ones on my 170's and I'm impressed with them. One is a combo and it works just as advertised - very much like a spread beam, but with a good throw of light down the track; and with the versatility of removing it altogether if needed to get back two spotties.

I currently have one spot and one combo on the 240's. Combo works quite
well but rather than a traditional full spread, it sends a "beam" of light (much in a line) out to the side.
Can see how it lessens the power (though not by much) as compared to
the spot so will put the "crystal blue" on
the spot first and see what it's like as the spread is already "softened" by the combo cover.
Cheers,

I have the spread beam clear on one light and just the clear one on the other. Works
well.
