I don't work for Staun and have not bought any of there other products.
What i can say is i wish vehicle manufacturer's had a similar product policy.
I bought the units when they first came out, nylon things that most often worked okay. After a couple years they got less reliable - but that only meant getting them to work first time. I rang them up and described the problem and if there was any lube they could suggest.
They asked me to return them, in the return mail i got a full set of the brand new brass ones.
I was impressed.

mine were OK just the old style...
They replaced them for the new brass ones.

Why waste the money?? I have Stauns, never used em LOL.. An ARB/TJM Twig off the ground works just as
well.
Best option is to use a valve removal tool... Thats what I do, works
well..
After a about 5-10mins at a servo, you can work out how much air comes out of your tire with the valve core removed, in say 20/30 second incraments.
EG
20 secs maybe approx 15psi...
30 secs maybe approx 22psi...
Cost is $0.00 for a valve removal cap from your tire joint next time your there, inform them you have 2x valve removal caps on your car before they changed tires, or just ask for a couple...

Now why would you want 'em because you don't need to drop your tyre pressures around the Big Smoke.....hahahaha or for that matter in the high country? I couldn't be bothered sitting there with a twig guessing.....Stauns work pretty
well when you get to the stage where you need to drop the pressures right down to 15 or 18psi

I think old mate Russel Coight demonstrated why you don't remove the inners of the valves whilst in the field.
Worst case scenario you might have to pump a tyre back up 5psi if you stuff up using stauns or sticks, stuff up removing a valve and your quick trip up
the beach changes dramatically.

If you already have a set that you never use, how does this equate to $60- in the bank??

I have a pair of Oasis deflators which have been tough and reliable. To the point where I have no reservations about driving with the deflators still on the valve. Unfortunately they are about twice the price of the Staun deflators. Also hey don't have the manual release pin which limits the range of pressures they can deflate to (Usually that's not a problem).

I suppose you would be the type to laugh at someone using a warn winch while you bust your @ss with a hand winch?
I was sceptical once, till my mate with stauns always managed to be on the beach with a coldie while I still had 2 tyres to deflate.

Using that logic, you had better put a B52 engine in your truck.
You will get there a lot quicker and u can be the one enjoying the coldies on the beach.

Personally I wouldn't be without my staun's, got them on special at a show... they are so quick and accurate (by the time you walk around the 4 tyres the first one is ready to come off). Call them a con job if you like, each to their own, but I've got better things to do than squating by the side of my fourby for 15 mins or so.
Cheers
Brad

Used the Stauns, courtesy of the 4WD monthly sub, for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Makes a backbreaking task much easier.

Mozza,
Ferret
Tools in
Perth make a deflator that I bought at the 4WD show in
Perth recently. $25.
It removes the valve completely but keeps it captured safely inside the tool. It releases around 1psi per second, and then you screw the valve back in a move onto the next tyre.
Seems like a cheaper option than Stauns, quicker than a stick and no risk of them failing when left on the tyre.
From the White Pages, might not be the right place.

Mozza,
I have one of these too and they are definitely the answer. Well made, foolproof and quick. I've had mine for nearly two years and it has been well worth the $25.
