Welcome to the Exploroz T2 owners club.....lol
afaik the air filter is a fraction cheaper to buy genuine .... believe it or not!
I fitted a CAV style pre-filter/
water trap, the filters for these are only about $6.00 & should extend the life of the original almost indefinitely.
You did say 2.7td, because I see you asked about 'pet' filter!
My T2 2.7tdi has done 280,000km so you should have many kms ahead of you.
If I can be assistance at any time, please don't hesitate to ask. I have done a fair bit of research into accessories & ways to reduce the inherent overheating problem when worked very hard.
Another forumite, Hoyks, is very up to speed re T2s.

Enjoy your TerrannoII - we love ours - have found all filters etc to be readily available - also have a cd of full workshop manual - may be able to copy and send to you in the new year if you contact through here.
Our baby is very economical on a trip , and very sturdy, we tow an ofrf road
Dingo camper trailer.

jules, I would also be very interested in a copy of the workshop manual CD, I would obviously be prepared to cover any out of pocket expenses &/or contribute towards your initial purchase cost. I think you may be in the Frankston area? I am often down that way.
I would also be keen to find out your fuel consumption figures both towing & just normal on road.
I tow a Track camper trailer, total laden weight is 1100kg. & I have complete consumption figures from our recent 8000km outback trip.

I have a hard copy of the manual and it comes in 3 volumes. I think a small forest died to print it.
Fuel wise I ger 10L/100k and towed a boat (5-600kg) from
Townsville last Christmas and the fuel consumption soared to 15L/100k

I think I get around 11.5L/100k on the blacktop & anywhere from 15L to 19L/100k towing the 1100kg Track camper trailer.
Does the temperature increase on yours when you work it hard, I believe it to an inherent problem.

I didn't have any issues with it getting too hot unless I hammered it down
the beach, then about 12 months ago it started getting warmer than I would like.
The
water pump started leaking, so I replaced it and the thermostat while it was out and a few weeks ago I popped the radiator and it was cheaper to get a new one than have the old one re-cored.
Each time it was drained I flushed the block, and it still gets warm. got me stuffed why. At least the temp comes down quickly when you back off.

Bob, I have Terrano ll bullbar from East Coast Bullbars (ECB), I think hoyks also has the same bar. You can see them here if you cut & paste this link
http://www.ecb.com.au/model/terrano.htm
The only ones for the T2 are the Nudge Bar or the Adventure Tube, which is the one that we have.
