Moving map programs (including DiscoverAus) use NMEA data output from GPS - this is an international standard format and not brand specific - therefore it should be possible to use any GPS (that outputs NMEA standard format) for moving map with DiscoverAus...though I have never tried and can not be 100% sure that there is not some other thing stopping it from working.
Different story with waypoint and track upload/download with each brand having a different format..so only Magellan units can use this function with DiscoverAus.
Cheers
Greg

Hi Greg
Have tried point 1 above and it doesn't work. I can upload waypoints and tracks between the two programs provided I use the magellan hand held to interface between the two operating systems (whilst on Oziexplorer). Cheers
