Bourke to Broken Hill is NOT all sealed unless you go via Cobar! Bourke to Wilcannia direct is 350kms of dirt in reasonable nick (stay on E side of Darling) and stay below 90kms. As to road conditions - have a look at this Exploroz site.

Hi Paul,

From my reports that I have here, all roads are open in the Broken Hill area except the Pinnacles Road and Day Dream Mine Road.

I hope to get to update the road conditions later today, so keep your eye on them.

Hey Mate, you will not have any problems on the road down through Louth, to Wilcannia direct from Bourke.

I've lived in Bourke my whole life and have taken that road a couple of times in a standard falcon. Last time would have been 2-3months ago in a AUII falcon. Generally speaking that road is fine if you have a 4wd, gets a bit corrogated and rough in places though.

One thing to look out for, however, in the coming weeks the Darling is going to flood. When the river rises the road often get covered in water and it goes without saying that the road is impassable at this time.

No drama's anyhow, it's probably only 2 hours extra (at most) going down through Cobar and accross.
