It's a week before Christmas 'n I'm happy b'coz
I'm here in the Forum within ExplorOz
Stumbled across this place twelve months ago
While searchin for 4.8 Patrol info

Lucky I did coz most people did tell
The 4.8 petrol is thirsty as hell
If economy you want, get a 3 L T D
But make sure that it is the new Series 3"

'Bout 12 months have past since I took that advice
And went out 'n bought a rear storage device
Raised the suspension, a good 50 mill
If it weren't for the Missus I'd go higher still

Then came the tools and recovery gear
You know, the stuff that gets thrown in the rear
The Nissan Patrol weighs two 'n a half tonne
Mi old 4 wheel drive, it weighed closer to one

Most of the stuff that I owned had to go
Got my replacements at the 4 wheel drive show
They all saw me comein, spent a couple of grand
With this mob and that, and at the TJM stand

So now I have snatchum straps, winch straps 'n chain
The Big Haul 'n cable, Drizabone for the rain
Some shackles 'n gloves, a tree trunk protector
A 12 volt compressor with battery connector

Again on the Forum, what else can I do
Oh yes, but of course, a UHF too
The GME TX 44 hundred's the go
It mounts in dash with single din radio

Did I mention duel batteries, the Coopers, the fridge
But still had to get the truck more ridgy-didge
So back to the Forum to read how you feel
About gettin a bull bar, which? alloy or steel?

The ARB winchbar, the steel one it's said
Is tougher than alloy when put head to head
I want the steel winchbar, the winch it can wait
When I'm told that "the Magnum is on special Mate!"

I strike a good deal, but where I fit the winch
The shop owner tells me it's really a cinch
Except the control box you must modify
The plug must be moved to the front from the side

The Forum says mount the control box real high
Up under the bonnet to keep the thing dry
That also will stop the nasty folks from
Usin a paper clip to turn it on

You see how I get lots of use from this site
Once I have logged in I could stay here all night
This Forum it not just about 4 wheel drives
Discussions can include other things in our lives

I scroll up and down and read lots of stuff
Sit here for hours, it's still not enough
Click on refresh, there could be a new thread
What am I doing! I should be in bed!

Most would not know me I reads more than writes
Others you'll recognise as true Forumites
There's Roachie, his GU with gadgets galore
Willem won't buy 4 wheel drive M any more

Captain is often here giving advice
Eric sells LightForce at the right price
We all know 'bout Truckster, that one day he might
Love all of his neighbours, companions (yeah right!)

Hail the Great Sticker God, David, Michelle
Juliana, Kerry and Malcolm as well
In this festive season I wish you good cheer
Have a Very Good Christmas and a Happy New Year

A definite prize winner.....Dave, Michelle....!!!! If they've already left for the east, Juliana, you'll have to let them know....It should go in with their other testimonials.
Anybody else come up with anything?

G'Day Scrubba
We are new members to exploroz and have already after just posting a few messages felt that we are welcome. People you mention in your verse are those same ones that welcomed us to the club. Part of our homework for our journey around this great land was "which uf radio to buy"? A work mate told me that he had just installed a GME TX4400, and then tonight I read your verse and you mention the exact same radio. Coincidence? So far this forum has been the most enjoyable hours ever spent in front of the old grey confuser. to you and your family, have a merry christmas and fantastic new year.
