Steve I thought in Garmin you could enter DD MM SS or decimal degrees. Have you tried?
If it does not, the excellent freeware G7toWin or G7toCE will convert and upload them for you to your GPS.

Steve,
last time I used a similar Garmin to yours it was possible to go to a screen which allowed you to select how you wanted the positions expressed. decimals of degrees was a possibilities as were minutes and seconds.
A further complication(or feature if you see it that way was a screen which allowd you to select which mapping system you wanted.
in short what you want you may already have - finding it might be the entertainment.
Best of luch

Yes - as suggested -you should be able to change the format in which the coordinates are displayed on your GPS to match the decimal degree co-ords you have - then you can enter them manually...or if you are stuck just multiply 60 by the decimal part of the coords you have and that will give your coords in the format you requested ie 0.796280 x 60 = 47.7768...so coord is 149° 47.7768' and .947410 x 60 = 56.8446....35° 56.8446'
Cheers
