Hi all,
If I am installing a second battery into the tray of a ute, what is the best way to route the cable from the engine area to the tray? Can it go inside the chassis rail? I will be running 4AG cable inside the black split tubing stuff. I have a 91 dual cab hilux.
Thanks Heaps and Merry Christmas...
Michael

Run it anyway you like Mike as long as it's
well protected. I took
mine along the top and side of the chassis rail.

Same here.
But I ran it in some of that flexible black tubing.

Mike, I ran 16 square mm welding cable through the chassis to the second battery in the camper, that stuff has double insulation and should stand up to wear and tear.

Added to what was said, bring the cable through the back of the tail lights if you are a bit nervous about drilling holes. With the cable, go big. Even with 16 sq mm you may get 0.5 v drop.
