After updating to a Waeco CF 80 six weeks ago I finally got around to advertising the Engel 39 L in the Trading Post on Thursday. Got $650 for it today.
It was 6 years old and cost $1100 new. Pretty good, near 60% return for a 6 year old product. They do hold their value
well.
Then I got to thinking the net cost to me was $450, forget the percentages. If the Waeco that I bought from the Fridgeshop at $980 can bring me $530 in six years I will be in the same situation.
Wonder what will happen, I don't have crystal balls, sorry a crystal ball. Time will tell I guess.
Anyway, although I've gone away from Engel I still don't reckon they're a bad thing. Just a bit overpriced for my liking.
Cheers,
Jim.

Don't tease me Stu, I'm a fragile man.
That dear old Engel fostered many a hangover. Bastard of a thing it was.
Sad to say but the Waeco is keeping up the tradition.
Cheers,
Jim.

If you don't mind me asking - why did you sell the Engel? Was it just because of the size?

Yes Mike, purely size. It was still running like new.
Cheers,
Jim.

You will probably get 5 bob for your Waeco in 6 years time when you trade up to a new Engel..........or you could use it for an outside shoe box or the likes....hahaha

G'day Willie,
Howdya reckon Jimbo's Waeco will look in 15 years time if he treats it like the Engel I saw yesterday in the back of Judith's X-trail?? LOLOL
Thanks for everything mate..
Jimbo, Good luck with getting a decent price on the Waeco; although it might be a bit early to be contemplating......

G'day Roachie
Glad you had a good time.
Yup, that Engel has had a hard life! And it is still running and freezing.

Willie,
Have you changed your surname to Wanker.
Willie Wanker... get it? LOL
Wolfie was also telling me what a great time he and Tracy had. Great food, great company, lots of laughs etc.
Willie I'm a bit worried about you, owning an Engel and a Toyota, you might develop a superiority complex LOL.
Cheers Mate,
Jim.
