Hi all.

I have read that there is a track which follows the "Vermin proof fence" from Hungerford to Sturt Nation Park.
Is this correct and if so is it open to public access?
Any info on web sites that have details would be appriciated.

I believe it is part of the DogFence (Dingo Fence) that runs from Jimbour in Queensland to the Great Australian Bight in SA some 5614km and it the longest man made structure in the world. The track next to the fence is not open to the public but I think permission can be obtained by writing to the various state authorities who control access to the fence.

that is correct the access road is not open to the public . It an OHS issue for national parks to maintain the fence and stop people from damageing the fence line. how ever there are many tracks that cross in that region and run along the fence line. As the traffic has picked up in this area you noemally would not interduce yourself to the farmers anymore. There been one too amny loonies out there. Have a look on the council plans to find crown land to camp on. You can useally find a nice piece of land out of the way to spend a couple of day useing it as a base.If you do camp and go exploreing on someones land try to leave a note where you going and when you due back.... this let the locals whats going on on their property.

if you in the area drop in to the ford's bridge pub and have on for me.
