Hi, Just wondering if anyone may have heard of this problem before. We have a 97 2.8TD patrol wagon. With clutch half out it shudders and mainly in the hot weather. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like the clutch is shuddering as it takes up, so,.. it is most probably worn.
7 years old, what sort of mileage? Take it to your mechanic to get checked out.

Chel,
I just changed my clutch on '99 2.8 TD Patrol. Noticed it slipping slightly, then shudder on pedal take-up like you have described. When I changed the clutch there was 0.2mm clearance left between rivet heads and pressure plate.
If you do a search you'll find my post on the topic and prices / part numbers for replacement clutch kits.
Regards,
Hugh
