Terry (WA)
Have been to my local Ian Diffen tyre man today ( I'm in
Perth) looking for new rubber for my 80 series Cruiser.
They have got BF Gooderich A/T 265.75 for $146 each which I think is OK but he was keen to sell me some "Toyos" for the same price.
Before you all get excited I have tried to search the archives for any mention of Toyo Tyres but without success (Tried several ways ) so can anyone tell me
1..Is $246 a reasonable price for the BFGs and
2 What about the Toyos? has anyone an opinion on them?
Terry.

Got to agree on those prices. Can't see them doing 265/75R16s for $146. Normal retails for BFG should be in the $260-280 range. Toyo's not likely to be under $225-250 either in that size. Looks like a typo from the later question?
Toyos are good handling but have shallow tread depths and fairly soft compounds. Good on road performance but not a high mileage tyre. Go with BFG's or try Coopers if you want value for money and great mileage. Try your local Tyrepower store.

Hi Rick, If you are going bush leave both those tyres at home from our experaince with customs they are to soft a compound and are realy only car tyres with and of road tread rapped around them. Save yourself a lot of hassles and put Coopers on our Bridgestone Duellur 661. Alick
