Dear friends,
I own a 1986 "grey import" Landcruiser Sahara and am wondering if anyone knows about whether one can install the rear "dicky seat" type of seating behind the normal rear seats . Our normal configuration only seats 5 and sometimes we need to carry a couple of small grandchildren and not sure if this is possible in this model . Incidently it is an auto diesel 2H motor with turbo , and is a dream to pull our caravan with .
We live in Brisbane so suggestions re a supplier would need to take that into account.
Happy Christmas to all!!!

I have a 83 Sahara (aust com) which has the rear foldup seats to seat 8. The easiest way is to look at the matt on the rear floor and see if there is two cutouts which the seats click into when down. Shouldn't be too hard to get seats at the wreckers if you can fit them. The motor you have is what is called a 12HT and is probably one of the best diesel Turbo's Toyota put out. You won't regret your decision apart from the 24 volt system.

Hi Shane, Ive got an 89 one, I am suspecting there are no anchor points for an additional seat added as a stanard item when manufactured. Lift up the back carpet and check. When the vehicle was complianced there had to be child achor points installed. Similar would also have to be installed for any more seats installed to the appropriate ADR's. Merlinp.

Just finished fitting Dickie seats in the rear of my 80 series. I purchased the seats of ebay for $50, they were brand new out of a GU Patrol, took it to a steel fabricator and he made up the brackets for $100 (very cheap) and i fitted them,They came up really well. If you want to do something similar, let me know your e-mail address and l can send you some photo's, but it wont be for a couple of weeks because l am leaving for Robe (South Aus) on boxing day.
Hope this helps..............Stuart
