My radiator in 100 series exploded. Not sure why, getting a mate to rip it to bits to find out. Levels etc were sweet. I know zero about mechanics etc, has this happened to anyone else? I was doing 120 and it just went bang. The
tank on the top has a big split. Any info would be appreciated.

Normal for top tanks to crack , just check for blown head gasket , just in case. make sure you send it out to get flushed whilst they replaice the top
tank , then only use Toyo coolant , it's the only product that has saved my cruiser from overheating and sludging the radiator .

Have to agree about genuine Toyota coolant. My LC80 no longer overheats since I changed. Might have been the flushing too, but I have heard from non-Toyota mechanics that it's the best stuff for the 80 and 100 series Cruisers. So far so good.

As a matter of interest do they have one of those plastic header tanks which sometimes seem to be a problem!

Get radiator cap checked for pressure, or replace it. Might not be releasing at correct pressure, and over-pressurising the cooling system.

Thanks all. It does have a plastic top
tank. Still not sure why it blew though.
