I have downloaded a Point Place Map from Exploroz and saved it to my documets as a GIF file. I now wish to transpose that to Oziexplorer and place into a map. Have scoured the Ozi toolbars but am drawing a blank.
How do I do this?
Knowledgable forumites please help.
Thanks

Hi Willem
all my maps i have down loaded have been *.map files and you can open them the same as any other map
maybe try saving it as it is then try opening it
I will be around to read your answer
(if this is what you mean)

Hi Richard
This is my problem.
I was doing a Plot File for Exploroz on Mt Gill Track at Warraweena
My computer played up and all I had was the data on the GPS
I sent this data to EO and David transposed it to his system
Now I want to be able to bring that track and over lay it on Natmap Raster within Oziexplorer
I have downloaded the map and that all works fine but I think I will have to 'buy' the plt from EO.
What are your thoughts?

You will have received a .map file as
well Willem so put that in the same directory as the .gif file. In ozi click file/load from file/load map file and navigate to the directory where the two files are located. Click on the .map file and the image will open.

G'day Ray
Yes done that but I want to know is if I can transpose that map image over the Natmap Raster in Oziexplorer to show the track on the map. I think that I will have to download the Plt file instead. Thanks

Ray
Just had another look. The PLT downloaded with the map in .GIF form. I have saved it to a folder in My Documents.
Any ideas on how I can import it to a map loaded into Oziexplorer? Have looked at all the icons but not everything makes sense :o)

Willem,
.plt is the extension Ozi uses for it's track files and should load straight up.
Click on the LOAD button on the tool bar.
Then click "Load Track File (Multi)" from the menu that appeared.
Find your .plt file and either double click it or select it and click the "Open" button.
Your .plt file should load as your track record, on the appropriate part of what ever map you are using.
Are there any geocaches there?
Regards
Dave

G'day Dave
Thanks for your help. I eventually found where the .plt had downloaded to in Oziexplorer and was able to transfer it to my Raster Map which is configured in to Oziexplorer. Now I will be able to print, scan and then email it to the person who wants it(he does not have Oziexplorer)
Must try your geocaching one day. Will go and have a look at the site
