Hi,
I have a 2000 Bravo and have noticed that there do not appear to be transmission breather extensions, just a cap on top of the rear diff housing for example.
Has anyone fitted extensions for the diffs and gearbox and can give me a guide to any problems, eg. access.
Thanks, Phil I

Hi Phil,
There are breathers on rear and front diff, and gearbox. AFAIK there's no breather on the xfer case. Best solution is to prise off the caps then attach and run good quality tubing up into the engine bay, and finish off with cheapo fuel filters to stop ingress of crap. For the rear diff, run tubing up into the rear of the cab. Make sure you run it (and the others) such that there is enough "slack" to cater for full articulation.
Try using the search function....there's probably 6 million posts on this subject and altho' they won't refer to Bravos/Couriers, they will nevertheless give you some tips!!
Cheers
Andy

Hi Phil,
I did my 2002 Courier.
If you pop the caps of there's bugger all left to attach tube to.
The thread is a common bolt thread and I bought a couple of bolts without thread running all the way to the head of the bolt. I ran a nut up to the top of the thread and loctited it in place. I cut the head off the bolt and drilled the centre out with about a 3 or 4mm drill bit. This effectively created a semi barbed fitting.
I then ran a breather tube up to the top of the fire wall in the front and left a loop at the top with a filter on the end of foam held in place by a cable tie.
The back one runs up inside the very rear of the right quarter to the top of the tail lamps again with a loop and filter. If you pull the tail lamp assembly out you'll see how I ran it.
If anythings unclear in the above PM me and I'll address it.
Hope it helps,
Dave
PS Couldn't find a gearbox breather...can't remember how hard I looked though.
