"CE is for hand held computers."

more specifically these devices

Handheld - HPC (CE version 2) , HPC Pro (CE Versions 2.11,2.12) and HPC 2000 (CE version 3.0+)
Palm sized - _Permanent_Painted_Coatings.aspx (CE version 2.0 and versions 2.11,2.12)
PocketPC - PC2000 (CE version 3.0+)
PocketPC - PC2002 (CE version 3.0+)
PocketPC - (Windows Mobile 2003) PC2003 (CE version 4.2+)
ARM , MIPS , SH3 , SH4 , and Intel PXA2xx cpu's (Xscale) are supported for all platforms where applicable.

OziExplorerCE will not run on

devices using Windows CE version 1.
Handheld, Palm sized and PocketPC CE devices using AMD cpu's.
Palm Pilots and any other PDA not using the Pocket PC / Windows CE operating system.

i.e. will not work on all hand held computers so be careful when purchasing.

Cheers
Greg

From the OziExplorer website...

OziExplorerCE is moving map software for PocketPC and Window CE PDA's, it uses raster map images which are either scanned or purchased in digital format. It allows you to track your position received from a GPS on a map (moving map).

The design philosophy is you plan your trip using the full PC OziExplorer on you PC and then transfer your waypoints and other data to your PDA for use by OziExplorerCE.

OziExplorerCE runs on PocketPC and Windows CE PDA's but it relies on map calibrations etc to be provided by the full PC version of OziExplorer, in this respect OziExplorerCE can be considered an add-on to the full Oziexplorer software, you also need the full OziExplorer to calibrate maps, plan trips by adding waypoints etc.

To get the full use of OziExplorerCE you must have a full purchased copy of OziExplorerCE and a full purchased copy of PC OziExplorer.

Cheers

Willie.

Oziexplorer is the mapping application used on desktops and laptops. Oziexplorer ce is used on handhelds. I use both and I'm local. Email me and we can discuss.

Richard ,

How do I email you when I do not know your email address ? Maybe you can drop me a line at mike.willis@optusnet.com.au

I would like to discuss the software .

This is my situation :
I have a Magellan FX 324 MAP GPS which accepts Magellan Great Desert Tracks mapping software which I have installed - this was a major feat for a computer idiot like me .

I have 300 waypoints on an Eagle handheld that I want to transfer to the Magellan , but the only cable I could get for the Eagle to download the waypoints did not fit the USB ports on this computer . It was an old style plug because the Eagle is about 8 nyears old .

Also I have put the Natmap software on this laptop .

I would like to get some of those satellite photo maps of W.A. and the N.T. and for this I think I need Ozexplorer .

But I cannot quite figure out how to link it all together to somehow make the total more than the sum of the parts .

Thanks ,

Willie
