TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN
For 4.30 pm EST on Sunday the 9th of January 2005

Severe Tropical cyclone KERRY, a category 3 cyclone, is located in the Coral Sea
well east of the Queensland coast and is moving slowly west.

At 4pm EST, Severe tropical cyclone Kerry, was located near latitude 18.3S and
longitude 159.4E, about 1100 kilometres east-northeast of Mackay. Wind gusts
near the centre of Kerry were estimated to be up to 170 km/Hr.

Kerry is expected to move slowly in a general westerly direction for the next 2
days. The combination of Kerry and a strong ridge along the Queensland coast
will produce fresh to strong winds along much of Queensland's east coast for a
few days.
