Been buying this stuff for my L/C 80 for the past 5 or so years, and used to cost $34.99 per 10 litres at my Auto One and then Supercheap stole the show and matched the price...until I went to get some today...$45.99 for the 10 litre unit....guess the racing Falcons have to be paid by someone !!! ...

Steve,

I also used to use the Valvoline SuperDiesel in 20 litre drums.

But for the past couple of years, changed to F_U_C_H_S Ultralube 15W40 CI-4 for about $70+ for 20litres from Adelaide Truck and 4wdSpares (DonKyatt shop).

Its a higher grade, and cheaper.

Cheers
Phil

Hi Steve,
Have you ever tried the Penrite range of oils?
They have oils for all types of applications and it is made in Australia for Australian conditions by an Australian company.

Cheers

I used penrite twice, once in my lsd rear on my gu patrol rebuilt that found the oil was thinning too much on long trips well after about 1hr on the hwy. Second time in my gearbox same vehicle, rebuilding that now. Lack of oil to the main bearing same thing happened the oil thinned but ever when cold it had the consistancey as water and the colour of engine oil after oil 6 months and about 10000ks. My front diff, transfer case and engine in which i use castrol are all fine funny that. I would try castrol RX super i use it my father uses it in his v8 diesel gmc and his mate uses it in all his 86 semi's cant go past that i reckon.

CASTROL RX SUPER IS 15W-40 SAME AS THE VALVALINE. IT COSTS ME $79.95 FOR A 20L DRUM. IT MAY BE A BIT MORE THAN THE VALVALINE BUT I THINK ITS WORTH IT. BESIDES HOW MUCH IS IT TO REPLACE A MODERN DIESEL MOTOR THESE DAYS. GOOD OIL AND 5000K CHANGES =GOOD RELIABILITY.
