Hi Ray, no reason given. As a reason for joining I stated I had access to a caravan and had recently bought a CT and was looking for a friendly place to exchange ideas. Just got a flat no

Hotmail address would appear to be the problem, I use it until I identify the potential spam content of new sites. If I feel it's a good risk then I change over to my regular address. I'll give it another go.

msn site refused my application too- no reason given. Perhaps they know all the answers and don't want to share, or don't know the answers and are afraid to share that info too! So I'll stick to a site that is entertaining AND friendly!

Could be that you did not use a "valid" e-mail address. The system automaticall rejects hotmail addresses and probably some others.

I just registered without any problem.
Maybe they are fond of Pajero drivers with Coromal Cravans!

odd that an msn site would reject a hotmail address since they are related!

The caravanners forum site management (and MOST of us users) got sick and tired of the trolls and other flamers who were destroying a very useful forum. One particular troll was rude & agressive and often posted ridiculuous posts with blatantly inaccurate information just to create problems. When this person was asked for explanation or queried or an alternate view was expresed he resorted to personal abuse and degridation to discourage further discussion.

I see that recently this forum had a very minor example of this problem.

Management of the caravanners forum was asked by many members to do what they could to cut the abuse and flamers who were destroying a valuable resource. Aparantly they identified MOST of the trouble makers as those using Yahoo and Hotmail email and introduced a policy that isp email address must be supplied to join. In defense of the managers THIS HAS WORKED as the site has reverted to an interesting and friendly site.

Anothe caravan site which has also introduced the same policy is Australian caravanning (MSN too).

Suggest you re-try with a valid isp address. As the managers say - it is only for internal use and can be changed later, once admitted. They are a great crowd of people who value other's opninions and ideas as well as being happy to share their experiences - but are just sick of troublemakers.

I think you need to look at the whackers that are on some of these forums.
We have forums of over three thousand people that are generally educated and professional and have no issues. It is always when you get the old tired poorly educated and generally the low achievers that cannot grasp and comprehend and are jealous of knowledge and education. We have no issues whatsoever with the forums where people sign up with Hotmail or Yahoo addresses. On our forum with over three thousand professionals at least 50% would be from Hotmail, Yahoo etc.
