Has anyone experienced any problems with their GU 3.0L TD air conditioner compressor clutch seizing?
It is mounted in a very vulnerable position for water and mud driving.
Mine has seized and the replacement compressor cost is $1080.00.

There are two 2nd hand ones available at Adelaide wreckers at a cost of $395 each, but I am not sure of the condition of these.

Any thoughts?

Geoff.

Squizzy, should be no need to replace the whole compressor, clutch assembly only, much cheaper. Have read that this is a common problem with 3.0 LTD. Others may know of a warranty claim on these?

Like john mentioned, you should be able to replace the clutch assembly. Mate recently had his replaced under warranty and it is quite common for this to happen. Another reason for an extended warranty!!

Thanks fellas,

There is a place in Adelaide called Highgate Industries who do only auto air conditioning, maybe they can do the clutch repairs.

Unfortunately I am out of warranty.
