I dont reckon 75s had them although I could be wrong. see if one off of a 78 will fit otherwise see if you can get one from an 80 or even some other type of vehicle. They are pretty simple. Tried toyota sometimes you can get lucky and it wont cost you the earth

Yeah, they didn't have them as virtually all came with the second tank.
The second tank was a delete option, so maybe those few vehicles had one, but certainly wouldn't be common.

Might have to adapt one from a 45/47/60/80 series LandCruiser. The first of the 100series used a wire instead of chain and they broke - unless it was replaced under warranty.

I drove a few 75 series miners without a rear tank and I seem to remember even they had the spare in the tray. I have seen them on 78s without rear tanks - but yea probably pretty rare

Do you mean UNDER the chassis ?
You may even be able to get one from a 60 series cruiser, from da wreckers. May need a little modifying, also need to have access for the handle to slide through the rear bumper to wind it up and down.

2ndlow,

I've had a red, relaxed the brain, and then it dawned on me. If you already have the twin tanks, then you won't be able to fit the underchassis spare tyre carrier. So I guess you've just got the single tank and no carrier????????? Is that the case?

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your reply. Yes. I remove the long range fuel tank. so it has ample space to fit a spare wheel there. but just unable to get the carrier.........

I've seen a few under carriage carriers for sale / auction on ebay for other LC models. Sold for around $40 or so. Might be worth keep an eye out there for one.

I just checked with a search for "Landcruiser" and none there right now but they pop up every few weeks or so

Might not be so simple, I' think' the 75's with the rear tank had an extra or different crossmember to mount the tank from at the front so a wheel/tyre may not fit. there is also an extra crossmember behind the tank to take the rear mount. You may have to cut one or either and fabricate the necessary crossmember to carry the winch.
On a truck with the rear tank the two crossmembers are welded in.
There were also differences in the rear/back chassis and any tow bars if fitted.
