Following up post number 19305 and follow up id 351595 about 4.8 patrol auto dipsticks.
The gist from the dealer is they were never released with an auto dipstick because they use a special oil (big deal, lots of vehicles these days use special oil) and to top it off they are not available through the parts either trade or retail.

Well I have a part number - NI-31086-VC200 guage assembly oil level.

Go to your dealer and in spare parts quote that number and they should be able to get one in for you. If they can't, email me at lonards@bigpond.net.au and I will order one in for you. Sell for around the $30.00 mark.

Cheers

P.S- Bogged/truckster if you can let the dudes on outerlimits know would be greatly appreciated.

Cruiser,

Picked it up this morning - $23. Any idea on how this is fitted. The Nissan is home and I'm at work (working hard) and just can't recall if there was even a dipstick tube to accomodate the stick?

Kind regards

There is a tube ready for it.
All you need is a 10mm socket (I think) possible 8mm and undo 1 x bolt, take the little blank off cap and insert the dipstick.
