Ask Eric he's the man to know.
I am sure he would see this post and respond soon.

Got a few K's up, but good'uns are as scarce as buggery - $22K.
We've got same model, 4/97. Would like to think we could get 25 or better.
Are you going to cast the Explorer to the wolves?
Hooroo...

Red Book retail is better than my estimation.

Thinking of going to the dark side yet cannot for the life of me see the value in a brand new tojo ,hence the query on reasonable price 2nd hand.

Agree on later models, good to drive, but.....
A good 80, TD, moderate K's. Bit hard to beat.
S'pose there's GQ's too...? Biased, but I'd still go for an 80
.

Hi Undertaker, depends on condition and if it has any extras. Dealers are still selling good ones in the high 20’s to mid 30’s. Lets face it - to get a multi-valve turbo 100 series you will pay much more. Sure you can get the cheaper 1HZ for $15k but I believe after a while you will wish you had the 1HD-FT engine (been there done that). If it has a few extras that’s a bonus. 220,000km is nothing for that engine if it has been
well maintained.
Cheers
