I have just been given two 12 X 50amphr batteries from a "goffer" and tomorrow I shall be making some experiments with thease connected in parallel in leu of a normal DSB.
These batteries are of the gel type and completely sealed.
These batteries, I believ, are quite a bit cheeper than normal DCBs.

Why do you think they are hopeless? And I don't think that I will send them all the way from WA to Vic for disposal

They are now fully charged to 14v. I shall be waiting to see if they hold the charge
