If you are going across the Simpson Desert then a pass is required.

The Desert Parks Pass toll-free hotline 1800 816 078.

Hi Steve,

It depends which way your are going. If you go along the Birdsville Track you don't, but if you go into the Simpson Desert Regional Reserve you do.

If you want to go into Lake Eyre, you need a pass but you can get a day pass if you don't have the Desert Parks Pass.

Juliana

I just arranged my desert parks pass to do the Birdsville-oodnadatta trip, aloing the lines of the one you're planning via Exploroz shop. Juliana knows all.

Also for climate look at this site for Birdsville

We're leaving home 24/25 March mate and three weeks later ONO we'll be back, Western Vic. So am sort of well into the planning stage, got lots of ideas and lots of bits and pieces, worked out the route, fuel etc and now for the food.

So i'll be watching your posts for info for me too

Regards

Geoff
