Can I use my Nokia phone charger to charge Emtac GPS receiver.
Plug fits. :)

Emtac says:
5VDC 800mA

Nokia says:
Input: 240V/50Hz/21mA/5VA
Output: 3.7V/355mA/1,3VA
700mA

I'm totally electrically inept.

John,

I would seek professional advice, but looking at the numbers it would seem that as your charger is putting out less thn the GPS requires it would be unlikely to harm it and would probably take longer to charge.

But I'm only guessing; seek some advice.

Cheers,

Jim.

Nope.....

5v vs 3.7
800ma vs 355
and you even don't state the polarity!

If you can't find your charger and a genuine one is too expensive then call Jaycar and see if they have a suitable replacement. They have lots of aftermarket chargers like that one and at reasonable prices compared to genuine.
